Who We Are
Originally from Pittsburgh, Karen has been a fixture in Charlotte’s advertising and marketing community for over 30 years. Prior to starting White Advertising, she worked in radio sales and sales management before going on to serve as the VP of Marketing for Beazer Homes. Having accumulated experience on the client, agency, and broadcast sides of the business, Karen founded White Advertising in 1990. You can find her most days in the office with her Great Dane, Izzy, and on Friday afternoons volunteering with the homeless at Urban Ministries – an organization for which she has great passion. Karen has also studied psychology and loves exploring the ways in which it factors into successful media buying.
The majority of Ellery’s days are spent making sure our clients’ needs are met and expectations surpassed. She’s a Charlotte native who grew up immersed in the advertising industry and went on to study Public Relations in the School of Journalism at The University of Chapel Hill. Ellery has a background in digital media and holds an IAB Certification in Digital Media Sales. She’s active with several charitable organizations, most notably sitting on the Executive Leadership Council of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Charlotte in 2012 and 2013. Her yellow lab, Della, is a constant presence in the office and is simultaneously the friendliest and the laziest member of White Advertising.
Director of Brand Strategy and Digital Marketing
As the Director of Brand Strategy and Digital Marketing for White Advertising, Jessica works to focus client’s marketing efforts on reaching the right customers in the right place at the right time. Originally from upstate New York, Jessica relocated to Charlotte to work for Time Warner Cable Media after graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Marketing and Leadership Studies. As technology and capabilities evolved, Jessica was drawn towards digital media and grew into a role with Spectrum Reach where she managed a team of digital planners and analysts across the southeastern United States. She is IAB Certified in Digital Media Sales, as well as Google Analytics certified.
Director of Accounts and Business Development
Nearly 30 years in the marketing business have provided Donna opportunities to build relationships with brands and build agency talent. Prior to joining White Advertising, Donna held the General Manager role at HMH, account management positions at McKinney and served as Vice President of Operations, eventually becoming president of Charlotte-based Loeffler Ketchum Mountjoy. Between her Raleigh and Charlotte moves, she wanted to gain experience on the client side and served as creative services manager for the in-house design group at Levolor Home Fashions, a Newell Rubbermaid Company. Donna understands that creativity is the lifeblood of an agency. Her passion is keeping the arteries open with creative talent and smooth operations.
